Problem Statement
An average person buys 60% more items of clothing every year and keeps them for half as long as 15 years or more in some cases, generating a huge amount of waste. However, the major problem is that people don’t realize how much recyclable material is thrown out every day.
Annually, a person throws out an average of 80 pounds of clothes and shoes. All that textile waste ends up in landfills or incinerators where it breaks down and emits greenhouse gases and releases chemicals into the ground and atmosphere.
